Travel to Hayling Island

Contrary to popular belief Hayling Island is accessible from most parts of the country with consumate ease. With the A27 main South Coast road, running just North of the Island and nearby Havant Station being situated on one of the main routes to London, travelling to Hayling is simple.

For those looking to travel either to or from places further afield, Hayling is also within easy travelling distance of International airports and the European ferry port of Portsmouth is only a stones throw away.

Getting to Hayling Island by road

Whichever direction you are coming from, you want to head for the A27/M27 South Coast road.

For visitors coming from the North or London this is most easily done by following either the A3 or the M3 south until it joins with the M27.

Leave the A27 at the Havant / Hayling Island exit.

Head South on to the A3023 which takes you on to Hayling Island. Road access to Hayling Island is through a single road bridge that is part of the A3023. As the only access road this predictably can get busy during peak times, especially during the summer, so be sure to leave adequate time when travelling on or off the island.

All roads on Hayling Island operate either a 30mph or 40mph speed limit.
